VASES WITH IMITATION OF TEXTILE

The new collections of Quetzal and Codex vases are an imitation of textiles, lace, rattan in soothing deep shades. In the hands of their author - French designer Helen Morbu - ceramics became a field of experimentation with texture and color.
The vases from the Codex collection are similar to openwork wavy lace in its numerous manifestations. It seems that the thin weaving is slightly stretched on the soft curves of objects. Sandstone plates were chosen as the main material for this collection.
The surfaces of the Quetzal vases are reminiscent of leather and reed wickerwork, and various fabric patterns also come to mind. The imitation is so life-like that your hands on their own reach out to check the items for authenticity. The neck of the vase is especially mesmerizing - a kind of raw textile edge with a fringe.
The colors of the vases are warm terracotta and earthy tones, soothing whites, blues, greens and pinks.
