The Durotaxis armchair is a novelty created by designer Alvin Huang in collaboration with Design + Architecture. The special feature of the chair is its egg-like shape, that gives it an almost alien look and a versatile design at the same time.
The unique mix-grade surface, reminiscent of openwork knitting, is made using 3D printing. Thanks to this technology, it was possible to create a thick and heavy structure in one place and a thin and soft structure in another.
The Durotaxis rocking chair has a gradient color scheme that fades from white to blue.
The novelty can rightfully be considered a work of modern art, as well as a spectacular element of a futuristic interior.
