JAPANESE STYLE

A Japanese style interior is the perfect choice for those who need a quiet abode, where they can fully relax after a busy day.  Japanese house is bright and light, giving preference to natural materials, and balancing aesthetics and functionality.

Simplicity is the main and most important principle of this style. It is characterized by refinement, geometric harmony, spaciousness. The color scheme of a Japanese interior is built on combinations of natural neutral colors in warm shades. The most optimal palette is a combination of creamy cream and beige bamboo with contrasts of silver, gray and sage green. But the classic move of this style is the combination of white and black with bright raspberry red accents.

Walls of the premises are usually not decorated with anything, but bright paper fans or engravings can complement a finished interior well. We still should remember that oriental design is quite exotic, and at the same time strict in relation to furniture, floor, walls, decor elements colors.

Floors, like walls, should be a modest basis for the rest of interior decoration. A competent decision when choosing a coating is a bamboo laminate, as well as marble or tiles made from natural materials.

It’s also worth remembering that in a real Japanese house there are practically no carpets, but you can use mats in neutral shades - sand, cream, gray. It’s best to limit yourself to one or two options throughout the house to achieve style simplicity.

Japanese style is largely determined by simple low furniture made from any rich dark or as light wood as possible. Low beds, matching seats and floor pillows are in line with the Japanese tradition of sitting and sleeping close to the floor. It is important that every piece of furniture is simple. The distinctive properties of Japanese furniture are asymmetrical combinations of separate elements, natural elegance, stylized floral ornament. Dark wood is preferred as it is ideal for a typical touch in a classic Japanese interior - contrasting light floors and walls.

Typical Japanese interior details - sliding walls and paper folding screens – are a great way to achieve the desired feeling of emptiness.

Texture and color can be added to a laconic oriental interior with textiles and accessories. The use of accessories should be minimal, but fine engravings and wall paintings are quite acceptable, especially those with natural ornaments: images of birds, a blooming lotus, or bamboo shoots.

Images of nature bring incredible sophistication and delicacy to an interior. As envisioned by designers, a person contemplating ponds, stones, trees and cherry blossoms feels one organic whole with the natural world
