VINTAGE STYLE

Vintage style (from the French vintage – old age wine) is a modern fashion trend based on a combination of modern and old antiques, as well as artificially "aged" things in an interior.

Vintage style interiors are characterized by all sorts of combinations of natural materials, wrought iron, brass, wood, ceramics, linen. The color scheme is predominantly sustained in natural tones. It is appropriate to use bright colors - red, green, blue, which are often muted by old scuffs.

For decorating a house in Vintage style, things from the "grandmother's chest" are a good choice: porcelain sculptures of animals, fancy dolls, old plush or rag toys, dishes, lace knitted napkins, etc.

Vintage gives room for imagination, without setting rigid limits. And no one will argue that such interiors are warmer, more comfortable and more harmonious than those designed in a simple style. The most important rule is to avoid the museum effect and remember that an apartment is designed for a comfortable living, and not for watching the antiques.

Vintage
It is often difficult to design an entire apartment in a vintage style, but it is quite possible to single out one of the rooms, for example, a bedroom or an office. And you can get by with decorating a single vintage item with old chest drawers or a table with carved legs, a cast-iron iron or a samovar. Vintage decor gives interior a classic look and historical value.

Vintage style in an interior

For vintage kitchen decor, you can use tiled countertops, retro splash backs, antique bread bins and floral-patterned curtains. A table and chairs made of natural wood will be a successful stylistic addition.

The easiest task is to decorate a bedroom. A dark wood bed adorned with a handmade patchwork quilt or a wool knit bedspread paired with embroidered pillowcases and sheets are all vintage. A dressing table decorated with napkins and crystal boxes, as well as small porcelain figurines in the form of birds and flowers, will be quite appropriate.

Particular attention when creating a vintage interior must be paid to floors. An artificially aged planks with small holes in the wood look extraordinary and unusual. Today, the combination of dark wenge wood or bleached oak with bright stylish details remains relevant.

Vintage interiors, as a rule, consist entirely or partially of old or antique items. But not everyone can afford to buy real antique furniture. That is why modern designers willingly respond to fashion trends and create antique furniture collections. And it is possible to age almost anything thanks to modern technologies.

Traditionally, they use amenable to aging materials common for antiques, such as wood, ceramics, forged metal, brass, linen fabrics. After processing, the item looks almost like handmade.

And one more thing - never be afraid to experiment, and just try to give old things a chance to live another life. And then, even the most ordinary interior will turn into a stylish space.
