BOHO IN AN INTERIOR

Boho in French "boheme" means "gypsy". The term itself came into use in the 19th century, denoting the lifestyle of the creative clerisy, who advocated a return to ethnic roots. Artists, writers, young actors and musicians were prominent representatives of Bohemia.

The artistic image of dancing and singing gypsies has become an inspiration for poor creative people. Living unpretentiously, they equipped their homes using all kinds of available materials.

Today, the boho style remains just as popular, distinguished by its diversity and emancipation, having migrated to many areas of life, up to the world of fashion and design.

At first glance, boho-style decoration resembles an attic, loaded with old stuff like antiques and souvenir trinkets. Such interior is similar to the style of nomads and gypsies, as it combines many bright colors and decorative details, oriental and ethnic motifs.

Therefore, this style, often, may not be understood by common people, since it bears a certain imprint of character of its owner. The creativity of boho decoration will be appreciated by bold, eccentric people, who lead a hippie lifestyle and know how to feel comfortable living without rules, among a riot of colors and decorative interior items.

It is clear that Boho style is not for everyone, but for those who are not afraid to show individuality in their own home and get the opportunity to express themselves.

Despite the apparent clutter, the boho-style interior has something that unites the decoration of a room and all interior items. In such interior materials with pretense for chic can perfectly coexist with expensive fabrics, materials, as well as unique handicrafts that can be purchased at exhibitions, flea markets or brought back from travels.

Boho interiors are distinguished by rich colors, cute hand-made gizmos, an abundance of textiles, oriental pillows with tassels and fringes, "grandmother's antiques", a pompous canopy, a hammock or rattan furniture.

One of the rules of Boho style is the absence of monochrome. Bold contrasting combinations of various shades of pink, yellow, orange, purple, blue will fill an interior with unique mood.

The abundance of places to relax - sofas, couches and poufs, is considered a distinctive feature of this style.

Colorful pillows and carpets will be important elements, that not only set bright accents, but also unite all elements of an outrageous interior. Floral and floral prints, ethnic motifs and all kinds of patterns will harmoniously complement such a space.

Hand-made items are an essential component of Boho style, giving originality and unique charm to an interior. These can be items made using complex needlework techniques - patchwork, macrame or wood carving, or simple bead screens, a knitted lampshade or a collage of photos in a homemade frame.

And most importantly, a boho-style interior is not created according to certain rules. Only intuition and flair are in action here. If you feel comfortable in such interior, then you did everything right!
